Below is a list of words commonly used in literacy education. Where possible we have linked to sign videos in the NZSL Online Dictionary. For words that have no recognised sign in the Deaf community, we have created signs in consultation with Deaf teachers and NZSL tutors. We believe these new signs convey the concept being taught, however they are only suggestions and we would welcome staff feedback. Please comment using the feedback form below.
